Matthew Vaughn To Make “The Golden Age”, A Film About Retired Superheroes?

The director/writer of X-Men: First Class and Kick Ass is trying to make a film about retired superheroes. He says he has a major Hollywood studio behind him and wants to attach a cast before the script is finished, with his wishlist containing Clint Eastwood, Jack Nicholson and Warren Beatty (That is a hell of a wishlist!).
The Golden Age will be based of the new comic book of the same name, which will be written by UK chat show host and comic/film buff Jonathan Ross. Ross is also Jane Goldman’s (Vaughns longtime writing partner) husband, althought its not yet been announced if she will be involved. I imagine she would be.
Deadline Reports
Vaughn believes the success of The Expendables and Red shows that audiences are open to the idea of older action heroes. “You have these great star names and they’re mainly playing supporting roles now. I want to give them the lead again and let them have some fun.”

The same article also mentions how he might not direct, but produce. I’m all up for this, I love the corny innocence and goodness to older superheroes compared to more modern, gritty versions. I’d love it if it theres a ton of contrast between the different generations (apparently theres going to be three generations of heroes in this).

What kind of things would you guys like to see in a film about retired superheroes? Keep in mind it wont feature any of the heroes you know and love, but its bound to have doppelgangers.
